Mr. Wells started his career with CSX Railroad when he was nineteen years old.
He worked as a conductor for 37 years and was a member of the safety committee and served as the Regional Safety Chairman for 17 years. During this time he also served as president of a large daycare facility for 6 years with a continual enrollment of at least 32 children. After retiring from CSX, Mr. Wells became the owner and President of Reload Resources, a crosstie yard in Paintsville, Kentucky. He operated that facility, servicing 42 suppliers from around Eastern Kentucky, until Covid-19 restrictions forced closure.
