
Mr. Mead, a West Virginia University graduate in chemistry, obtained his MBA
from Long Island University in 1969 and in 1974 became a Certified Managerial
Accountant. His business career, spanning over fifty years, began at Wheeling Steel-
Pittsburgh Corp. He joined Airco, Inc. in 1970, became assistant treasurer in 1973 and EVP/CFO of its largest division, Airco Alloys, in 1978. He returned to the Ohio Valley in 1983 as President of Buckeye Savings Bank. He currently operates Mead & associates, an oil & gas, real estate, and business consulting firm. Mr. Mead is a past president of the WVU Alumni Association and of the University’s Emeritus Club. Over the last twenty-five years he has served on visiting committees for the College of Arts & Science and later with the College of Business & Economics. Mr. Mead is also past president and board member of the Appalachia Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners. He resides in Wheeling, WV, where he
remains active in business and civic affairs.
